First Reading: Isaiah 55:10-11
Just as the rain and snow water the earth and make it fruitful, so does the word of God bring forth good seed.
Second Reading: Romans 8:18-23
Reminding all that the trials and sufferings of this life are “as nothing,” Paul says that the glory we shall receive will overshadow all things.
Gospel: Matthew 13:1-23
“If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, then he who raised Christ from the dead will bring your mortal bodies to life also through the Spirit dwelling in you…” “Come to me you who are weary and find life burdensome, and I will refresh you. Take my yoke upon your shoulders and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble of heart.”
First Reading: Zechariah 9:9-10
This is a prophecy of the coming of the Messiah to Jerusalem. He will come, not as a King, but as a humble savior, riding on an ass.
Second Reading: Romans 8:9, 11-13
Contrasting “flesh and spirit,” Paul urges that all who live for material things abandon the temptations of the flesh and rise to life in the “Spirit.”
Gospel: Matthew 11:25-30

- When will the construction begin?
We hope to get started in the middle of August and hope to finish by Easter. The church building will be closed during that time.
- Where will Mass be held during those months?
Sunday Mass will be held in the Parish Hall next door with the same weekend schedule. Daily Masses and Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament will be held in the new Parish Center Chapel. Funerals and weddings will be held at Sacred Heart.
- Will other parish activities be affected during construction?
To date our parish has received $62,750.00 in pledges/gifts toward the 2014 Cardinal’s Appeal, from 255 families. The parish goal is $67,000.00. For this Appeal to be truly successful, we must have the support of all of our families. The Appeal is a vital source of funding for the programs and ministries that sustain the parishes across our Archdiocese. It is not too late to make your gift. Please be as generous as you can. Thank you for your kind support.
