Summer Visitors and My New Contact Information

I take this opportunity to formally welcome three visitors for the summer, each of whom will be serving you over these next few months. Fr. Augustine Twum-Obour is a priest of the Diocese of Sunyani, Ghana who was ordained in 1991 and will be with us until September. He is a pastor back home in Ghana who is spending some time in New York to relax while he serves us. He will be living at St. Lawrence and most of the time will be serving there. Fr. Augustine Adjei-Boachie is also from Ghana from the Diocese of Goaso. He is doing graduate studies in Detroit but will spend part of the summer at Sacred Heart while Fr. Eric is on vacation. David Rider is a seminarian for the Archdiocese of New York who just completed second year theology in Rome, Italy. David hales from my home town of Hyde Park, NY and Regina Coeli Parish. If all goes well, he will be ordained a priest for the Archdiocese in two years. David will be with us until the middle of August when he returns to Rome to continue his studies. Please welcome these three men and thank them for serving us.

As for me, I expect to be in my new assignment by the middle of August as long as a new pastor and administrator has been appointed for St. Lawrence and Sacred Heart by then. My new address will be St. Francis of Assisi, 128 Parrot Rd., West Nyack, NY 10994. The phone number at the parish is 845-634-4957 and the parish email is stfrancisassisi@optonline.net. Next weekend will most likely be my last set of Masses here since I’ll be on vacation from July 23 to August 8 and as mentioned above I expect to report to St. Francis by the second week of August. No word yet on who will replace me but I’m confident we’ll learn who it will be soon.
